THE OPPORTUNITY
We're seeking an exceptional technical leader to partner with us in building our AI agent development practice. This is not a traditional employment role, but rather a collaborative partnership opportunity that could evolve into a Head of Development position as our relationship and business grow. You'll be instrumental in shaping our technical vision, leading agent development initiatives, and building our capabilities from the ground up for our mid-market clients across healthcare and financial services sectors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Lead the technical vision and implementation of our AI agent development practice
+ Present technical solutions to clients and participate in business development activities
+ Build and manage a team of developers as we grow
+ Design and develop custom AI agents using both code-based and no-code approaches
+ Build scalable agent architectures that integrate with clients' existing systems
+ Mentor junior developers and guide cross-functional teams on agent development
+ Evaluate and incorporate emerging AI tools and frameworks into our development stack
+ Collaborate with clients to understand their workflows and translate requirements into effective agent solutions
+ Establish best practices for agent development, testing, deployment, and monitoring
+ Create documentation and knowledge sharing processes for client handoff
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
Agent Development:
Expert-level experience designing and developing AI agents using various frameworks including LangChain, LlamaIndex, Auto-GPT, or equivalent
No-Code & Low-Code Tools:
Demonstrated experience with no-code AI agent platforms such as n8n, Make.com, and similar tools
LLM Experience:
Hands-on experience integrating commercial LLMs (OpenAI GPT-4/3.5, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini) and open-source models (Llama 3, Mistral) via Hugging Face and other repositories
Enterprise AI Platforms:
Experience with enterprise AI platforms such as Amazon Bedrock and/or Google Vertex AI is a significant plus
Programming Languages:
Strong proficiency in Python, with experience using Python libraries like LangChain, Pydantic, and various LLM integration tools
LLM Integration:
Deep understanding of LLM integration patterns, prompt engineering, and optimization techniques
Architecture Design: Experience designing AI agent architectures that can be deployed across diverse client environments
API Development:
Skills in creating and integrating with RESTful APIs for agent connectivity
Data Handling:
Experience with data preprocessing, vector databases (like Pinecone, Weaviate, or Chroma), embedding techniques, and retrieval patterns
Security & Compliance:
Knowledge of security best practices for AI systems, particularly in regulated industries like healthcare and finance
QUALIFICATIONS
+ 7+ years of software development experience, with at least 3 years focused on AI/ML systems
+ 2+ years of experience specifically with LLM applications and agent development
+ Experience managing technical teams and leading development projects
+ Proven ability to present technical concepts to business audiences and participate in sales processes
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
+ Strong portfolio demonstrating successful AI agent development projects
+ Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to translate technical concepts for business audiences
US-based, preferably in New York or Northeast region (for occasional in-person meetings)
Experience in healthcare or financial services industries is a significant plus
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You're a versatile technologist with a track record of building and leading technical teams. You can move fluidly between code-heavy development and no-code tools to create the right solution for each client.
You're equally comfortable deep-diving into Python code, rapidly prototyping with visual tools, or presenting technical concepts to executives.
You have hands-on experience building and deploying AI agents for real business use cases and understand both the technical implementation details and the business outcomes AI agents can deliver. Most importantly, you can articulate complex technical solutions in a way that helps clients understand the value, which contributes directly to business development efforts.
