About the RoleAs a Senior Applied AI Engineer at Boon, you will be the bridge between research & industry to build an AI agentic platform—an application layer that leverages existing AI technologies to create practical logistics solutions. We're focused on developing autonomous AI systems that can replace or significantly augment human operations in the logistics industry, not conducting fundamental AI research. You will architect and build sophisticated multi-agent systems capable of data-driven decision-making, planning, and multi-step reasoning that integrate deeply with fleet operations. Your work will directly impact how logistics companies operate, transforming manual workflows into intelligent, autonomous processes. In this role, you will:Design and implement comprehensive multi-agent AI systems capable of autonomous operation across dispatch, routing, maintenance, and financial workflowsBuild agents that can reason, plan, and execute complex multi-step tasks with minimal human interventionDevelop sophisticated orchestration layers that coordinate multiple specialized agents working together to solve logistics challengesCreate agentic systems that can interface with and extract insights from diverse data sources (TMS systems, load boards, telematics, financial systems)Implement advanced reasoning capabilities including planning, tool use, and self-correction mechanismsPush the envelope on accuracy while being efficient across inference and fine-tuning.Deploy LLM and agent evaluation that ensure reliability, safety, and performance at scaleDevelop agent memory and knowledge systems that enable continuous learning and improvementBuild monitoring systems to track agent performance, detect drift, and ensure reliable operationYou're a Great Fit If:You're passionate about building truly autonomous and maintainable AI systems that can transform industriesYou're comfortable with the full AI development lifecycle from prototyping to production deploymentYou can reason about ML fundamentals like transformer architecture, model embeddings, right choice of metrics and optimizers.You have hands-on experience building and deploying agentic AI systems or other AI assistantsYou're skilled at designing multi-agent workflows where specialized agents collaborate to solve complex problemsYou're experienced with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.You've looked at frameworks for building agentic systems (like LlamaIndex, Pydantic, LangChain or similar)You understand the challenges of agent reliability, safety, and evaluationYou're motivated by practical applications and deploying iteratively than fundamental AI researchYou have experience with Search, Indexing and Ranking technologiesMinimum requirements for the role:Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning5+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying AI/ML systems in productionExpertise in multi-agent system design and implementationProficiency with LLM orchestration technologies and agentic frameworksPython skills with experience in modern AI/ML frameworksKnowledge of distributed systems and data ETL at scaleCompensationAt Boon, we want to attract and retain the best employees and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company.
